Atenuri Wine

Since ancient times Atenuri wine was appreciated for being exceptional. Medieval sources referred to it as "the wine of kings", "wine better than any other", as well as "excellent", it acquires its unique properties due to the local microclimate and the outstanding process of winemaking Satsivi Marani where air coming from underground cooled the temperature of boiling wine during summer and kept Kvevri temperature stable during winter. Ateni is also known for the unique Kvevri cleaning method that used ice from the river.
Varieties of Chinebuli, Budeshuri, Atenuri Saperavi are famous Ateni top quality wines, which are all present in Nika Vacheishvilis Maranis vineyards.
